Check clearance status

If your case number appears on the list below, your clearance has been received and approved for posting. The visa needs to be issued while the clearance is valid. Clearances are only valid for 90 days from the date we receive them.  You must come to the Embassy before the date that your clearance expires.

In order for us to issue the visa, please bring your passport to our Embassy on Monday through Friday between the hours of 0800 - 1100 AM except for U.S. and local holidays. An appointment is not needed; however you must bring your own passport.

We can no longer accept passports delivered by third parties. We will make every effort to issue the visa as soon as possible, however please allow three days for visa issuance. Print the page with your case number and present it at the entrance when you submit your passport. Please be advised that visa issuance is not guaranteed and will only be determined at the time of the final review of the entire application by the consular officer.

**IMPORTANT FOR F-2 VISA APPLICANTS**

The issuance of your F-2 visa is dependant upon the issuance of your spouse’s F-1 visa. If you are applying for an F-2 visa, the clearance for your F-1 spouse MUST be received before your visa can be issued. Immediate family members may pick up passports for the whole family provided they submit proof of relation (i.e., marriage/birth certificate).  If your F-2 clearance will expire in 30 days and you still have not received clearance for your F-1 spouse, send us an email at consularnicosia@state.gov.
