On December 19, Ambassador Schlicher visited the Latsia Kindergarten to distribute gifts purchased by the Embassy community and Marks and Spencer. Ambassador Schlicher sang Christmas carols with the enthusiastic kids and exchanged views with the Mayor of Latsia, Mr. Panayiotis Kypriannou, representatives of the school and parents teachers' organization. In his televised remarks Ambassador Schlicher noted the strong friendship between Cyprus and the U.S.

Following the visit, Ambassador Schlicher gave a televised new year's wish to Cyprus urging implementation of the July 8 agreement and exploitation of the rich depository of agreements negotiated between the two sides over the years. The Ambassador's remarks were carried by all media.
